Scholarship distribution ceremony was inaugurated at the Central Library on Thursday morning. Professor Dr. Soumitra Sekhar, Vice-Chancellor, was the chief guest. Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Syed Nazmur Rahman, head of the Education Department at the Center for Zakat Management, presided over the event. Treasurer Professor Dr. Ataur Rahman and agriculturalist Dr. M. Humayun Kabir were special guests. Various faculty members and students from different departments were present.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Soumitra Sekhar said, 'In this era, we are fighting for quality education and skills. Alongside obtaining expertise, we will not forget the common people who we have educated with scholarships.'

Addressing the students, he stated, 'If you make a mistake, the word "humanity" won't be in the dictionary. Just as we emphasize higher education, research, and development at Nazrul University, we equally emphasize humanity, ethics, and standing by people.'

Commending the initiative of the Center for Zakat Management, the Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to those involved in this noble endeavor. He affirmed that Nazrul University will always support such initiatives.

President Lt. Colonel (Retd.) Syed Nazmur Rahman urged the scholarship recipients, 'We request that you utilize this scholarship to study, shape your character, and become conscious of your responsibilities. Responsibility lies in establishing and succeeding in your life without forgetting others. Because the most compassionate thing in our society is not forgetting others.'"

Regarding the relevant context, in the 2021-22 fiscal year, the Center for Zakat Management will grant scholarships to 2,570 students nationwide.
