C'nawabganj Dist Judge says : Lawyers play key role in success of legal aid

Chapainawabganj District Legal Aid Committee Chairman and learned District and Sessions Judge Md. Mizanur Rahman said that panel lawyers have a key role to play in ensuring legal aid to insolvent litigants through legal aid. He said this in his speech as the president at a view-sharing meeting with panel lawyers at the conference room of the Judge's Court on Monday afternoon.
Legal Aid Committee Chairman Mizanur Rahman said that insolvent litigants resort to legal aid for legal aid in cases. In providing legal aid to the panel lawyer concerned in the case of that litigant, importance should be given to ensuring that the purpose of legal aid is not disrupted. He called for care to be taken so that there is no misunderstanding between the litigants and the lawyer and that no undesirable situation is created.
Panel lawyers shared their experiences and opinions at the discussion organized by the District Legal Aid Committee.
The open discussion focused on removing obstacles in the handling of legal aid cases and facilitating services. Judge (District and Sessions Judge) of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Md. Haider Khondaker, Chief Judicial Magistrate AKM Jahangir Alam, General Secretary of the District Bar Association Adv. Ekramul Haque Pintu, etc. participated in the discussion. District Legal Aid Officer and Senior Assistant Judge Begum Rukhsana Khanam moderated the program.
The program discussed new ideas for issuing summons in handling civil and criminal cases and speedy disposal of cases.
