Burimari Land Port to be closed for 8 days on Eid-ul-Fitr
Sabbir Hossain, Hatibandha, (Lalmonirhat)
Burimari Land Port and Customs Station in Lalmonirhat will remain closed for eight days, including weekly holidays, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. All import-export activities will be suspended from March 29 to April 5. Normal operations will resume on April 6, confirmed Niayaz Nahid, General Secretary of the Burimari C&F Association.
The decision was made after discussions with customs officials, port authorities, and business organizations from Bangladesh and India at the Changrabandha border. While goods transportation is halted, passport-holding passengers can continue to travel as usual, assured Ashraful Islam, in charge of Burimari Immigration Checkpoint.
Authorities are prepared to restore services quickly after the holiday.
