Police recovered the body of a private television channel journalist from a house at Kalabagan in the capital on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Muhammad Qudrat-E-Khuda Hridoy, 27, a multi-media reporter of Jamuna TV.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Police are primarily suspecting that he might have committed suicide.

Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kalabagan Police Station, told the Daily Sun that on information from his colleagues, a team police rushed to the house on Lake Circus Road and found the body hanging from a ceiling fan in a garret on the rooftop of the residence at noon.

“Police found the door of the garret, in which he lived, opened. We are suspecting that he might have committed suicide,” he said.

The OC explained that the journalist had relationship with a girl.

“It seems that Hridoy was not going well with the girl named Prottasa. Because, he phoned his mother on Monday and told her that she should not dream with Prottasa. Besides, he expressed about his suicide through a status on his social media site,” he said.
