Md Farooq Mridha, Convenor of Upazila BNP's Eighteen Gachia Union Branch, held a press conference to protest against the purposeful publication of news against the BNP leader in Amtali, Barguna. The press conference was held at the temporary office of Upazila BNP at 11 am on Saturday.

On January 3, the news published in some daily newspapers and online portals under different titles including 'Dakhal Nete Khangi Tala BNP Leader' is completely false, baseless, fabricated and motivated. There is no match between the facts and the reality. Such false news has been printed because some vested interests have supplied misleading information to journalists for their own gain.

In a written statement, Md Farooq Mridha, convenor of Eighteenth Union BNP, said that last Monday, November 30, at approximately 12:15, the chairman of the Union Parishad, Md Rafiqul Islam Ripon, told me over the phone that there is a dispute between the two sides about the tenant of the shop house in front of the Union Parishad complexHe asked me to look into the matter as the convener of Union BNP.Later, I did not get anyone there on the phone and told the chairman, then on his advice I sent two people including our union youth leader and they went to the spot and found out that one shop tenant had spread the goods late that night and the other tenant was going to open the empty shop. After settling the matter, in the presence of the market guards, he locked the empty shop house and left the key to the caretaker of the office Md. Harun on the instructions of the chairman.

Later, I came to know that the members led by the current members of the Union Parishad, Abdul Baten Dewan and Leon Talukda, locked the store and took the keys deposited by Md. Haroon at night. I also know that currently the tenant of North Shop has opened the lock and taken the goods to the shop. I strongly protest and condemn the news published in my name and request the journalists to present the actual facts subject to investigation.

Senior Joint Convener of Upazila BNP Md. Zahirul Islam VP Mamun said, strongly condemned and protested for spreading false and false news in the name of BNP leader Farooq Mridhar.

Municipal BNP convener Md. Kabir Fakir said that the allegations leveled against Farooq Mridha have no involvement in the investigation of the incident and are false and baseless.

Atarogachia UP Chairman Mo Rafiqul Islam Ripon said that Farooq Mridha has no involvement with the incident. The matter has been settled and the shop has been opened.
