Autorickshaw driver's body recovered after missing in Narsingdi

A day after going missing, police have recovered the body of a battery-powered autorickshaw driver named Kanchan Mia (60) in Belab, Narsingdi.
The body was recovered from a paddy field next to the road adjacent to Binnabaid Technical B.M. College in Binnabaid Union of the upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased autorickshaw driver Kanchan Mia is the son of the deceased Motalib Mia of Domanmara village in Khidirpur Union of the neighboring Monohardi Upazila.
OC of Belab Police Station Mir Mahbubur Rahman confirmed this information. Quoting the relatives of the deceased, the OC said that local people saw the body lying in a paddy field next to the road in the morning and informed the police station. Police went to the spot, recovered the body of the person and took it to the police station.
Later, the relatives of the deceased went to the police station and identified the body as Kanchan Mia. Kanchan Mia did not return home after leaving home in an autorickshaw on Tuesday evening. After his disappearance, a miking operation was carried out in the area. In the meantime, his body was found in a paddy field in the Belab police station area, but his autorickshaw could not be found.
Police and relatives believe that the autorickshaw was stolen after the murder. Belab police station OC Mir Mahbubur Rahman said that legal action will be taken in the incident.
