Army accords reception to SAFF champions

Bangladesh Army has accorded a grand reception to the Bangladesh national women’s football team for clinching the SAFF Women’s Championship for the first time.
Chief of Army Staff General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed attended the reception as the chief guest.
The National Women's Football Team players, coaches and all concerned were given crests, gift items and a cheque of Tk 1 crore at the reception.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin, senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy, BFF’s women wing chairman and FIFA council member Mahfuza Akter Kiron, Bangladesh Army's Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division (AFD) Lieutenant General Waker-uz-Zaman, among others, were present in the programme.
On September 19, Bangladesh won their maiden title of the SAFF Championship defeating hosts Nepal 3-1 in the final in Kathmandu.
