Former MP and Narayanganj District BNP President Muhammad Giasuddin has applied to the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives to include five areas of Fatulla Police Station in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC)

Giasuddin recently sent a letter to AF Hasan Arif, advisor of the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives of the local government. In this, he applied to include kutubpur, Fatulla, Enayet Nagar, Kashipur, Baktabli Union of Fatulla industrial area in Narayanganj City Corporation.

According to the application, Fatulla thana area adjacent to the capital Dhaka, which is an industrial and commercial area under Narayanganj Sadar Upazila. Narayanganj City Corporation to the east, Buriganga and Dhaleswari rivers to the west, capital Dhaka to the north and Munshiganj to the south. There are at least 850 industrial establishments, big and small. At least ten lakh people are employed in these institutions. Every year thousands of crores worth of products are exported from here. Bangladesh government gets huge amount of revenue from here. Which plays a significant role in the country's economy.

Fatulla Thana with an area of 65 square kilometers is one of the most populous industrial and commercial areas of the country. The population of the area is more than 2 million. There are various government and semi-government important administrative offices including District Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, LGED, Public Works, BRTA, District Police Line, Court, Jail, Sub-Registry, Education Office. However, the necessary system for improving the quality of life of the people including the roads and drainage system here has not been developed till now.

As per the need of the time, it is very important to include Narayanganj City Corporation in Fatulla Thana area which is inhabited by industry and commerce. Attempts to incorporate the area into the city corporation were made several times in the past, but it failed as non-voting MP AKM Shamim Osman, one of the dictator's cronies, blocked it through illegal influence. As a result, it was not possible to include Fatulla in the city corporation despite the long-standing demand of the residents here.
