Annual sports competition of DU Suryasen Hall held
The annual sports competition of Dhaka University Masterda' Suryasen Hall was won by the 3rd year student of Bachelor of Management (Honours) Md. Omar Farooq In this competition, the 4th year graduate (Honours) student of marketing department jointly became the runner-up. Jonaid Mia and 3rd year student of Bachelor (Honours) Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies Md. Tariqul Islam
University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal inaugurated this competition by being present as the chief guest in the Sunday morning.
After the game, the treasurer of the university Prof. Momtaz Uddin Ahmed distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
Professor Mohammad Maqbul Hossain Bhuiya, Principal of Suryasen Hall, President of Dhaka University Teachers' Association, Professor Dr. Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, Proctor Professor Dr. AKM Golam Rabbani, Physical Education Center Advisor Prof. Dr. Asim Sarkar, acting director of the center. Shahjahan Ali along with principals of various halls and resident teachers and students were present.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal said that students should participate in sports and cultural activities along with studies to keep their body and mind healthy.
He mentioned that these activities will make students resilient and will play a helpful role in developing leadership qualities to make them a complete human being.
Treasurer Professor Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed congratulated the winning students and said that in order to maintain the tradition and image of the university, the students should participate in regular physical exercise, sports and cultural activities in addition to the educational programs.
It is to be noted that in the annual sports competition of Suryasen Hall, teachers, officials, employees and volunteers also participate in a total of 20 events.
