Annual sports competition of DU Salimullah Muslim Hall held
The annual sports competition of Dhaka University Salimullah Muslim Hall was held on Monday.
In this competition, the students of Social Science Department jointly became runners-up. Samiul Islam and students of mass communication and journalism department. Mukul Murshed. The annual sports competition of Dhaka University was concluded in this hall.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the competition at the central playground on Monday. Earlier in the morning, the treasurer of the university Prof. Momtaz Uddin Ahmed inaugurated this competition as the chief guest.
Principal of Salimullah Muslim Hall. Md. Iqbal Rauf Mamun presided over the ceremony, President of Dhaka University Teachers' Association Professor Dr. Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, physical education center advisor professor Dr. Asim Sarkar, acting director of the center. Shahjahan Ali along with principals of various halls and resident teachers and students were present.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman congratulated the winning students and said that the memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali father of all time, should be upheld by the students of Dhaka University Salimullah Muslim Hall and the dignity, tradition and image of the university.
He mentioned that the students should practice and participate extensively in sports to make them successful and meaningful in sports and cultural activities.
Treasurer Professor Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Dhaka University students should acquire skills in sports and cultural activities in addition to education and research to take Bangladesh to the ranks of developed countries.
It may be noted that in the annual sports competition of Salimullah Muslim Hall, students as well as teachers, officials, staff and volunteers also participated in a total of 18 events.
