Mehdi Hasan, a 4th year student of Banking and Insurance Department (Honours) and Fahimur Rahman, a 2nd year student of Political Science Department, became the runner-up in the annual sports competition of Dhaka University Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall.

University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal inaugurated this competition as the chief guest in the morning of Friday at the central playground.

After the game, the treasurer of the university Prof. Momtaz Uddin Ahmed distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.

Poet Jasim Uddin Hall Principal Prof. Dr. President of Dhaka University Teachers' Association Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdur Rashid presided over the event.

Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, physical education center advisor professor Dr. Asim Sarkar, acting director of the center. Shahjahan Ali, Kavi Jasim Uddin Hall Sports Committee Convener Associate Professor Md. Principals of various halls and resident teachers and students were present along with Abu Taher.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal said that sports and co-curricular activities to keep the body healthy make students resilient, develop leadership qualities and play a role in becoming a complete human being.

He expressed hope that the students will develop themselves as skilled human resources by singing the song of youth with patriotism in their hearts.

Treasurer Professor Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed congratulated the winning students and said that in order to maintain the tradition and image of the university, the students should participate in regular physical exercise, sports and cultural activities in addition to the educational programs.

It is to be noted that apart from students, teachers, officials, employees and volunteers also participated in the annual sports competition of Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall in a total of 14 events.
