Mohammad Borhan Uddin, a 4th year student of Bachelor (Honours) Department of Islamic History and Culture has become the champion in the annual sports competition of Dhaka University (DU) Sir AF Rahman Hall.

Asim Sarkar, director of the center. Provosts of various halls, resident teachers and students were present along with Shahjahan Ali.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad referred to sports activities as an integral part of a healthy life and said that apart from studies, students' participation in sports and cultural activities is essential to keep the body and mind healthy.

He said that students should improve their skills by regularly participating in various sports competitions of the university.

He expressed hope that the students will play a role in increasing the reputation of the university and the country in the field of sports by having the spirit of the Great Liberation War and non-sectarian values.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. ASM Maqsud Kamal emphasized on maintaining the excellence of the students of Dhaka University in sports and cultural arena.

He urged the students to increase their capacity by participating in co-educational programs to develop themselves as complete human beings besides gaining reputation in education and research.

It is to be noted that in the annual sports competition of Sir AF Rahman Hall, teachers, officials, employees and volunteers also participated in a total of 20 events.
