Annual Business Dev Confce of SBAC Bank held

The annual business development conference of South Bengal Agriculture and Commerce (SBAC) Bank Limited was held on Saturday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in the capital.

Chairman of the bank Abdul Qadir Mollah was present as the chief guest. Bank's Managing Director and Chief Executive Habibur Rahman presided over the meeting, Bank Vice Chairman Mohammad Ayub, Director AZM Shafiuddin Shamim, Alhaj Mizanur Rahman, Engineer Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Nazmul Haque, Mohammad Helaluddin, Anwar Hossain and Md Mushfiqur. Rahman, Independent Director Prof. Md. Maqbul Hossain Bhuiyan and Ziaur Rahman Zia FCA were present as special guests.

Besides, Deputy Managing Director of the bank Md. Nurul Azim, Md. Altaf Hossain Bhuiyan, AKM Rashedul Haque Chowdhury and Md. Abdul Matin along with various department heads, branch managers and operations managers were present.

It was informed in the conference, the amount of deposits of SBAC Bank at the end of 2022 stood at 8 and a half thousand crore taka; Which was 7 thousand 310 crores at the end of the previous year. Meanwhile, the amount of debt is 7 thousand 800 crores; Which was 6 thousand 596 crores at the end of 2020.

Last year, exports were Tk 3,402 crores, imports were Tk 4,508 crores and remittances were Tk 952 crores. Abdul Qadir Molla said, despite the presence of global and internal multi-faceted challenges, the management authority of South Bangla Bank is very Conducting their activities with efficiency and dedication.

As a result of which, even being a fourth generation bank, we have been able to build a good foundation in financial indicators. We have also been assisting in formulating all kinds of policies and strategic plans on behalf of the board.

We want to prioritize sustainable financial achievement as a compliance bank rather than maximizing profits. At the same time, agriculture, SMEs, women entrepreneurs should be given priority in providing loans; Besides, emphasis should be placed on remittance collection and foreign trade.

We work with customer satisfaction as top priority. He further said that all of us who are on the board believe that the depositors are the real owners of the bank. We are engaged in the role of watchdog to protect their interests. The role of the management authority is important to carry out this work properly.

Habibur Rahman said, SBSC Bank has been able to deliver banking services to people's doorsteps through 88 branches and 25 sub-branches and agent banking outlets across the country in the fastest time.

Our bank has opened 1:1 branches in towns and villages as per Central Bank norms. In this case, we did not see the profit as big. He also said that SBAC Bank is also playing a role in expanding foreign trade.

We have correspondence with 202 banks worldwide. We are collecting the largest amount of remittances among contemporary banks. He said that the action plan for the new year has been determined to give utmost importance to import and export trade and to strengthen debt collection.

He said, SBAC Bank has used modern information technology to ensure security. Through this, we can ensure banking services more easily to the people.
