Minister of Agriculture Md. Abdus Shohid MP inagurated 2-day long Advanced Agricultural Research International Conference organized by Agricultural University Research System (SAURES) on Thursday.

He spoke virtually as the chief guest that Bangladesh is one of the countries that are at risk of climate change. The country is moving forward today with the welfare of agricultural researchers by tackling various problems.

He said, the country's agriculture is moving forward to cope with the effects of climate change. Thanks to agricultural scientists and researchers, the country is now self-sufficient in food. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman laid the foundation of agricultural research in this country. And under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, agriculture has been modernized. The country is progressing in the field of agriculture with his hands. He said the Present government is agriculture and farmer friendly. To boost agriculture, the government is subsidizing fertilizers and seeds and other agricultural inputs. He said that teachers, researchers and scientists have to work together to advance the country's agriculture in keeping with the international environment.

Sylhet Agricultural University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Jamal Uddin Bhuya said that agriculture is playing an important role in the implementation of Vision 2041 announced by the Prime Minister.

He said that agricultural scientists are working tirelessly to advance the country through the best use of agriculture, animal resources, fishery resources, which are one of the components of biological diversity. More than 600 teachers, researchers and scientists from 45 educational and research institutes from different countries, including America, Japan, Italy, Australia, Pakistan, South Korea, India, China, Kenya and Bangladesh, in front of the concept of smart agricultural technology to open up the possibilities and face possible challenges. Participating in the conference.

As a result of this conference, the field of cooperation between scientists in agricultural research will be expanded. About three hundred scientific articles will be presented in 8 sessions at the conference.

It should be noted that since the beginning of Saures' journey in 2008, more than six hundred research programs have been successfully completed under the supervision of Saures.
