Extreme dissatisfaction has been prevailing among the employees of the government-run Five Star Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon.

Sources have revealed that Dulal Chandra Majumdar, Executive Committee Member for Education, Literature, and Research of the Dhaka North City Unit of Jatiya Sramik League, and an employee of the hotel’s salon, is allegedly creating divisions among employees and spreading propaganda against minorities.

Affected employees have alleged that Dulal Chandra Majumdar is intimidating workers by claiming to have close ties with a high up of the current interim government.

Out of the allegations, it is said that he threatens to dismiss ordinary employees from their jobs, causing heightened tension within the hotel environment.

It is noteworthy that Dulal Chandra Majumdar has long used the name of Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif to exert his influence and has taken advantage of this to become a CBA leader at the hotel.

While many Awami League workers in government institutions have been relieved of their duties and are fleeing the country or their workplaces and homes, Dulal Chandra Majumdar continues to remain at Sonargaon Hotel, instilling fear among the general employees and maintaining his position without hindrance.

Despite numerous complaints from general employees of Sonargaon Hotel about Dulal Chandra Majumdar’s harassment, no effective action has been taken so far. Even though Dulal Chandra Majumdar himself belongs to a minority group, he tries to dismiss any complaint against him as persecution of minorities.

The aggrieved employees are demanding swift and effective action against Dulal Chandra Majumdar to protect the hotel’s reputation and to resolve the ongoing division.

In this regard, Dulal Chandra Majumder's comment was sought in his WhatsApp but he did not reply.
