Amar Bangladesh Party-(AB Party) today urged writers and journalists to play an important role for national unity and implementing the spirit of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement.

Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) Member Secretary Mojibur Rahman Manju made this call in a view-exchange meeting at party's central office in city's Bijoynagar area.

Journalist Abdur Rahman Mallik conducted the programme while noted writer and journalist Syed Tosharraf Ali, journalist leader and poet Abdul Hye Sikdar, former president of JASAS Rezabuddaula Chowdhury, journalist leader and former president of BFUJ M. Abdullah, journalist and researcher poet Shamima Chowdhury, journalist leader Jahangir Alam Pradhan, senior journalist and researcher Ahmed Matiur Rahman, poet and writer Fazlul Haque Khan, executive member of the Jatiya Press Club Shahnaz Poli and senior journalist Nasreen Geeti also spoke at the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, writer Syed Tosharraf Ali thanked the incumbent government for forming six commissions for reforming key sectors and pointed out that at present, the pressing issue of the state is corruption.

"The present government will have to take stern action against graft," he added.

Poet Abdul Hye Sikder said though Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was leader of struggle, but he was a symbol of great fascist. "Our basic demand is to make a new constitution to fulfill the expectation of the countrymen that resulted from the student-people uprising," he said.

AB Party Member Secretary Mojibur Rahman Manju said writers and journalists are mirrors of the society. Now journalists, writers and litterateurs are fleeing the country for their allegiance to the fascist government which is unexpected.

"Let us all to play a pivotal role to strengthen the national unity and fulfill the objective of the revolution.
