Pharmacy in Bogura fined Tk 50,000

A pharmacy named Nova Pharma has been fined Tk 50,000 for violating Consumers' Act on Tuesday
District Magistrate GM Rashedul Islam conducted the operation in Ranirhat area of Shajahanpur around 1.30 pm on Tuesday and fined it.
Executive Magistrate GM Rashedul Islam said, Nova Pharma had been preparing expired cattle medicine and unauthorized medicine in Ranirhat of Shahjahanpur upazila of the district for a long time. A fine of Rs 50,000 was imposed under sections 44 and 51 of the Consumer Protection Act-2009 for operating a mobile court there.
He further said that the owner has been given necessary instructions to continue the activities in accordance with the law.
During this time APBN members accompanied the operation.
