Seven participants from Bangladesh have become winners at the fifth Global Atomic Quiz competition organized by Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM). The quiz was conducted both online and offline, attracting 25,000 science enthusiasts from 100 countries. A total of one hundred participants were declared winners this year, including seven from Bangladesh. Top three winners including one from Bangladesh will be offered the opportunity to visit Russia. The result of the quiz was recently announced on the Global Atomic Quiz website.

Rosatom organized the Global Atomic Quiz 2024 in celebration of World Science Day on November 10. The quiz followed the objective of explaining the basics of nuclear physics, demonstrating the importance of nuclear technologies in everyday life, and highlighting the role that nuclear plays in preserving our fragile planet.

The quiz was conducted in 13 languages: English, Russian, Bengali, Hungarian, Spanish, Portuguese, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Mongolian, Turkish, Uzbek, Arabic, and Indonesian.

The participants had to answer 25 questions of varying difficulty and topics. The questions were in five distinct groups, each highlighting one of the major spheres of nuclear applications: “Energy and environment”, “Nuclear science”, “Industry and transport”, “Health”, and “Food and agriculture”.

All participants received a digital certificate, while winners will be awarded a unique prize- an atomic puzzle.
