The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Jatiya Nagorik Committee on Saturday announced a six-day mass contact campaign aimed at garnering people's support for the proclamation of the July Revolution.
The campaign will begin on 6 January and continue till 11 January, said Hasnat Abdullah, a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement while addressing a press conference held at his Bangla Motor office in Dhaka this noon.
“We will conduct the mass contact campaign by visiting educational institutions and engaging with people from all walks of life across the country to garner support for the Proclamation of July Revolution,” he said.
He criticised the government for not undertaking any visible initiative to meet the student’s demand he said, stressing the need for talks with all stakeholders to prepare the proclamation.
“We expect that the government would come up with a step in this regard immediately. We will extend our all-out support to the government to make the effort successful,” said the student leader.
He said the revolutionary student community has compelled the fascist Awami League government to flee the country.
“Now, we aim to reach out to the people with a pledge to rebuild a nation free from discrimination,” Hasnat said.
