565 lives lost in 552 road crashes in March

In March, 565 people lost their lives in 552 road accidents across the country.
The incidents also resulted in injuries to at least 1,228 others. Among the casualties, 203 fatalities occurred in 181 motorbike accidents, comprising 32.78% of total accidents and 35.92% of total deaths.
The data was disclosed in the monthly accident report released by the Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity on Wednesday (17 April).
According to the latest information on road crashes, Dhaka division experienced the highest number of road accidents last month. A total of 165 fatalities and 306 injuries were reported in 162 road accidents. Barishal division, however, recorded the lowest number of road accidents, with 32 fatalities and 92 injuries reported in 23 accidents.
