5 workers burnt in Jurain gas pipeline blast

At least five workers were burnt in a fire while repairing the leakage of a gas pipeline in city's Jurain area in the early hours of today.
The injured are: Md Siraj, 20, Md Khalilur Rahman, 45, Md Jumman, 19, Md Azizul Haque, 69 and Md Abdur Rahman (60).
Bachchu Miah, camp in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, confirmed the matter to BSS, saying that the gas pipeline blast took place around 12.30 am today while the workers were digging the soil to repair the gas pipeline.
Later, all victims were rushed to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 1.15am, he said, adding that the physical condition of two workers is still critical.
The remaining three workers left the hospital after receiving treatment, he said.
