5 gamblers arrested in Baniachong

Five gamblers were arrested along with cash and gambling equipment in Baniachong police operation.
It is learnt that under the leadership of Ajay Chandra Dev, officer-in-charge of Baniachong police station, an operation was conducted in Gunai village of No. 8 Khagawra U/P under the police station with the help of ASI Rimon Ghosh Sangiya Force at 10 pm on Thursday.
At that time, the accused Iqbal Hossain's living room was playing gambling with the door and window open. Chobahan Mia (55), son of deceased Ah Barik, Siraj Mia (50), son of Abdul Halim, deceased Iqbal Hossain (35), son of Raja Mia, Safar Uddin. (40) and deceased Tarek Ali's son Farooq Mia (42) were arrested by the Thana police with tk.7,400 and scattered gambling cards.
Baniachong police station Officer-In-Charge Ajay Chandra Dev told the media that regular cases against the accused have been handed over to the learned court for trial. In addition, police operations will continue to eliminate drug addiction, gambling, theft and robbery in the police station area.
