Friday is Friday. 08 December 2023 English, 23 Agrahayan 1430 Bengali, 23 Jamadiul Awal 1445 Hijri Today is the 4th Friday of the month of Jamadiul Awal. Friday is the greatest of the days of the week. On this day, there is a faith gathering of believing Muslims. Friday is the Eid day of the week or the Hajj day of the poor. There is a time on this auspicious day when Allah accepts the dua of a servant.

Rasulullah (pbuh) about the excellence and virtues of FridayHe said, "Of the seven days of the week, Friday is the most prestigious and leading day. On this auspicious day, the first father Hazrat Adam (AS) was created. On this day he entered Paradise and on this day he came to earth. He died on this day. Doomsday will take place on this day.' (Mishkat Sharif).

Significance of Juma

Tafsirbidera said, the name of the surah before Surah Jumu'ah is Surah 'Saf'. Saf means row or row. The Friday prayer is performed in a row and this implies unity and order. The next Surah of Surah Jumu'ah is Surah Munafiqun. There is an indication in this that performing Juma Taraq is a sign of a hypocrite.

It is Sunnah to recite Surah Jumu'ah in the first rak'ah and Surah Munafiqun in the second rak'ah. Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (R.A.) narrates, the Prophet (S.A.W.) said, “Whoever abandons Friday without reason, he is listed and recorded as a hypocrite.” (Mishkat).

Hazrat Umar (RA) and Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA)Narrated, 'We heard Rasulullah (SAW) standing on the pulpit and saying, "Whoever abandons a few Juma's consecutively, Allah will seal their hearts; Then they will be among the heedless.' (Muslim).

Hazrat Abu Jaad (RA) narrated, 'Rasulullah (SAW) Said, "Whoever neglects or ignores three Fridays, Allah will seal his heart." (Tirmidhi).

The main prayer of Friday is two rakat. It is fard to offer two rak'ahs of Jumu'ah instead of Zuhr at Zohr on Jumu'ah. It is Sunnah to pray 4 rakats before it (Kablal Jumuah) and 4 rakats after it (Badal Jumuah).

Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated that Rasulullah (SAW) used to pray four rak'ats before Friday (Kablal Jumu'ah) and four rak'ats after Friday (Badal Jumu'ah). (Tabrani).

Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) narrated, 'Rasulullah (SAW) He said, "When you offer the Friday prayer, then (Badal Jumu'ah) pray four rak'ahs." (Muslim). The two rak'ats associated with Ajr (Tahiyatul Aju) and the two rakats associated with entering the mosque (Tahiyatul Masjid or Dukhulul Masjid) are recited more on Fridays. In doubt whether the conditions of Jumu'ah fard have been fulfilled or not, many pray four rak'ats of Waqtiya Zuhr and two rak'ats of Akhiri Zuhr. Many people read two rakat Nafal and Shokriya Namaz two rakat. Salatut Tasbeeh four rakats are also recited by some on Fridays.
