
42nd founding anniv of Faridpur Sahitya Parishad observed

A literary gathering was organized on the occasion of the 42nd founding anniversary of Faridpur Sahitya Parishad and the 50th death anniversary of sonnet poet Sufi Motahar Hossain on Wednesday evening.
A discussion meeting, recitation of self-composed poems, cultural programs, and exhibitions were organized at the Faridpur District Council conference room.
The discussion meeting was presided over by Professor Md. Altaf Hossain, President of Faridpur Sahitya Parishad.
Among the speakers were Police Superintendent Mohammad Abdul Jalil, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Sushmita Saha, eminent educationist of Faridpur Professor M.A. Samad, renowned filmmaker Tareque Masud’s mother Nurun Nahar Masud, journalist and writer Mofiz Imam Milon. The event was conducted by Faridpur Sahitya Parishad’s Joint Secretary Mridha Rezaul Karim.
In the self-composed poetry recitation session, 15 poets recited their poems. In the concluding part of the program, a cultural performance was held. Faridpur’s young artists Sharif Mahmud Sohan, Bannya Ghosh, Papia Sultana, and Rupom Hossain performed songs.
