400-kg mangoes destroyed in operation of mobile court at Kaliganj

A mobile court has seized and destroyed 400 -kg of mangoes ripened with chemicals in Satkhira's Kaliganj.
On Saturday morning, the warehouse of Azizul Islam in Baliadanga market of Krishnanagar union of the upazila was raided and these mangoes were seized.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Azahar Ali led the operation.
However, the warehouse owner Azizul Islam could not be arrested as the mobile court team was aware of the presence of the team.
In this regard, the Executive Magistrate of the Mobile Court, Azahar Ali, said that on receiving information about unripe raw mangoes ripened with toxic chemicals, Upazila Agriculture Officer Wasimuddin and the local public representative raided the area and seized about 400 kg of unripe mangoes ripened with chemicals.
Later, the mangoes were crushed by the wheels of the car in front of all the local dignitaries, public representatives.
