40 ‘Indomitable’ women felicitated in Rangpur

In order to ensure women’s empowerment, awareness and cooperation among men are very important, says Director General of Women’s Affairs Department Keya Khan.
She said that in the future, a society will emerge where men and women work together and enjoy equal rights and privileges. The government has taken many steps for women’s empowerment, but issues like child marriage are still a big challenge.
She said this while addressing the ‘Indomitable Women’ felicitation ceremony at the Rangpur Tourist Motley Mall on Tuesday afternoon.
In the Dussehra program, 40 indomitable women were honored in Rangpur Division with the aim of inspiring and motivating the grassroots and successful women in various fields in remote areas. The program was organized by the Rangpur Divisional Commissioner's Office and the Director of Women's Affairs at the initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Director General Keya Khan said at the program that today's award-winning women are setting an example by overcoming adversity. This achievement is an inspiration for all women in the society.
In her presidential speech, Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md. Shahdul Islam said that 'Indomitable Women Award' is a unique initiative. The awarding of 40 distinguished women in five categories in this program is truly commendable. The work of women and their efforts will be an inspiration for others. However, it should be remembered that the effort is temporary but the effort never goes in vain. He urged women to work with wisdom to establish their position in society.
The special guest speakers at the event were Rangpur District Magistrate Amanul Islam, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Majid Ali, Rangpur District Administrator Mohammad Rabuil Faisal, Additional Director of Women's Affairs Md. Monir Hosen and others.
Out of 40 indomitable women in Rangpur district, five were selected as the best indomitable women. The best indomitable women are- Masuma Khanam in the category of those who have achieved success economically, Farhana Binte Alam in the category of those who have achieved success in education and employment, Merina Busra in the category of successful mothers, Hosne Ara Bogum in the category of those who have overcome the obstacles in her life and started life with a new venture and Advocate Anjuman Ara Shapla in the category of outstanding contribution to social development.
Government employees, indomitable women of Rangpur district and journalists were present at the event, which was organized by the government.
