300 tourists trapped in Sajek

Khagrachari-Sajek traffic is closed due to road submerged in flood water caused by hill slopes in Rangamati. As a result, more than three and a half hundred tourists are trapped in Sajek Valley.
Sajek Resort Cottage Owners Association's Organizing Secretary Rahul Chakma John confirmed the matter on Saturday morning.
He said, that due to the continuous rains in the last few days, the hill slopes coming down from the upstream have caused water on Baghaihat and Machalonge roads. As a result, traffic between Khagrachari and Sajek is closed today. About 350 tourists who entered Sajek on Friday are currently staying at Sajek.
He said, No vehicle left Khagrachari for Sajek.No vehicle left Sajek either.However, the rain has stopped since this morning. Hopefully, the water will go down from the road.
Baghaichhari upazila executive Shirin Akhtar said that 380-400 tourists are stuck in Sajek due to water in some roads on the way to Sajek due to continuous rain. They are all healthy. They can return when the water recedes from the road.
