3-day Non-fiction Book Fair begins at DU

A 3-day 8th Non-fiction Book Fair, jointly organized by the Faculty of Business Studies, Dhaka University and Banik Barta, began on Saturday at the premises of the Faculty of Business Studies.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan inaugurated the book fair as the chief guest.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Dilip Kumar Barua, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Dhaka University Professor Dr. Mahmud Osman Imam, Managing Director of University Press Limited Mahrukh Mohiuddin, Publisher of Ardon Publication Syed Zakir Hossain and Publisher of Anupam Prakashni Milan Kanti Nath spoke at the inaugural ceremony.
Dewan Hanif Mahmud, Editor of Banik Barta, delivered the welcome speech. Teachers, students and officials of various departments of Dhaka University were present at the event.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said that such fairs play an important role in buying books, reading books, creating and distributing new knowledge. A society develops and develops through the practice and distribution of knowledge. Book fairs can also contribute to creating a bond between the university and the society. He thanked the concerned for organizing the non-fiction book fair on the university campus.
It is worth noting that this 8th Non-fiction Book Fair has been arranged with stalls of 39 publishing houses of the country, including Dhaka University Publishing House. The fair will be open from 10 am to 6 pm every day. The book fair will end on December 30.
