2 killed in road accidents in Dhaka

Two unidentified persons were killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka's Paltan and Jatrabari areas early Thursday.

The bodies have been kept at the morgue of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said police.

Paltan Police Station SI Md Abdul Aziz said quoting eyewitnesses that a man, aged about 32 years, was sleeping near the road divider at Paltan intersection. Around 5:30 am, a truck ran over him.

He was taken to the emergency department of the DMCH at 6:20 am where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Aziz said. "We have detained the truck driver Mohsin, and seized the vehicle."

Another, aged about 45 years, was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Jatrabari Flyover.

Police recovered the body after receiving an information around 1:30 am, according to SI Hiraman Biswas of the Jatrabari police station.

The body was, later, sent to the emergency department of the same hospital.
