175 officials get promoted as joint secretaries

In the latest reshuffle in the public administration, a total of 175 government officials were promoted as joint secretaries.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued two gazette notifications in this regard on Wednesday.
The newly promoted joint secretaries were made officers on special duty in the public administration ministry.
Most of the new joint secretaries are from the 20th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service and belong to the Administrative Service cadre and the rest are from those left out of promotion earlier on several occasions, said officials concerned.
Earlier on Tuesday, 259 officials were promoted to the rank of deputy secretary.
