162nd birth anniv of Rabindranath Tagore celebrated in B'baria

The 162nd birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, one of the most revered poets and litterateurs in history, was celebrated at District Administration and Bangladesh Shishu Academy Brahmanbaria District Unite on wedness day noon at Brahmanbaria District Council Auditorium.

Chief Executive Officer of Brahmanbaria Zilla Parishad Aminul Islam was the chief guest.

District Children Affairs Officer Mahfuza Akhter presided over the meeting while Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Akramullah, poet Joidul Hossain and District Council Member Romanul Fardusi spoke as special guest. Salmanur Rahman Durjoi conducted the programme.

Chief guest Aminul Islam said: “Rabindranath Tagore saw his life very deeply which is reflected in his poems, songs, short stories, essays. His songs, poems, short stories, essays, novels are our source of inspiration.

Prizes were distributed among the winners of the poetry recitation and essay and painting competition organized on the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore's 162nd birth anniversary.

After the prize distribution, a cultural programme was staged with the participation of the children of Shishu Academy.

Rabindra Jayanti was celebrated to the beat of Rabindranath Tagore's timeless songs, poems and dances.

Trainer Papia Chowdhury, Runak Sultana Parvin and Babul Malaker jointly directed the cultural function.
