On the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr, 15 ferries and 20 launches will ply on the Daulatdia-Paturia waterway to ferry passengers and vehicles.

This was informed in a meeting organized on Thursday at around 11:30 a.m at Rajbari Deputy Commissioner's Conference Room on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr with the aim of proper management of the ferry and launch movement of ferry and launch and smooth travel of passengers.

Deputy Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan presided over the meeting.

It was informed in the meeting that, except for essential goods and services, all cargo trucks and covered vans will be closed for 6 days before and after Eid. Also, from April 6 to April 16, the movement of sand-bearing bulkheads in the Padma river will be closed. 15 ferries and 20 launches will ply on the Daulatdia-Paturia route during the Eid trip. Deputy Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan said that no battery-operated easybikes and rickshaws will be allowed to enter from the connecting road of Ferighat to the ferry pontoon.

Daulatdia Union Parishad Chairman Abdur Rahman Mondal publicly complained of extortion at Daulatdia Ghat in the meeting. He said, extortion is done from BIWTC Daulatdia Ferry Ghat from all types of transport coming across the river. BIWTC officials and Ansar members are involved in this.

BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat Branch Manager (Commercial) said about the complaint of the chairman. Deputy Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan drew Salah Uddin's attention. He expects everyone's cooperation.
