‘Shyama Kabya’ to be released in theatres on 3 May

Noted director Badrul Anam Saud’s psychological thriller film “Shyama Kabya” is set to be released in the theatres on 3 May. Earlier, the film was slated to be released on 24 November last year.

Besides directing, Saud has written the story, screenplay, dialogue and done the editing of the film. “Shyama Kabya” received the government grant of the 2019-20 fiscal year.

Shohel Mondol and Neelanjona Neela have played lead roles in the film. The movie also stars Intekhab Dinar, Nowrin Hasan Khan Jenny, A K Azad Shetu and others.

The story of “Shyama Kabya” revolves around a teacher who has experienced a traumatic childhood incident and tends to seclude himself in his home, where he lives alone. His life changes when he falls in love with a girl. After getting married, tensions started between them.

“Shyama Kabya” won four awards at the ‘Gange Sur Seine’ film festival, an international independent Indian film festival held in Paris, France in October last year. The film got awards in Special Jury, Best Original Screenplay, Best Picture and Best Editing categories.

Saud bagged the Special Jury, Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing awards while the Best Picture Award went to Ishthiaq Hossein.
