
'Stand for NID' strike in Louhajang Upazila

The Louhajang Election Officer and his fellow workers have gone on strike as part of the 'Stand for NID' program to keep the National Identity Card (NID) service under their control.
The strike program was held in front of the Louhajang Upazila building in Munshiganj district on Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm.
Louhajang Upazila Election Officer Md. Azizur Islam said, "We are protesting against the ongoing harassment of the National Identity Card, i.e. the voter list database and the database, which was built with the hard work of the Election Commission officers and employees, and the evil eye of various people and government authorities at this stage."
This is a program announced by our center, that is, a program that includes all the organizations that have different types of officers and employees of various projects, including our Bangladesh Election Commission Officers Association.
As part of that program, we have stopped work in this Louhajang Upazila (March 13) from 11 am to 1 pm, that is, all types of NID and national identity card related services, voter list related services and other services have been closed.This is our first program. If we do not see any appropriate action from the government and the Election Commission, we will have to go to our next program. We will follow the program announced later by the center and our Bangladesh Association.
Assistant Upazila Election Officer Md. Jewel and various officials and employees of Louhajang Upazila were present at the time.
