What to do in health care for the elderly campaign held in Sylhet

Lifestyle Health Education and Promotion, Health Education Bureau and Department of Health have organized a campaign to create awareness about geriatric health and palliative care and what to do in health care for the elderly.
The campaign was held at Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital in Chauhatta of the city on Wednesday (May 29) morning.
The campaign elaborates on what can be done in health and palliative care for the elderly.
Dr. Shahid Shamsuddin Hospital Sylhet RMO. Md. Mizanur Rahman presided over and the management of AGM Play Dr. Mohammad Benyamin conducted the programme, Sylhet's civil surgeon Monisar Chowdhury attend the programme as the chief guest.
Civil Surgeon Sylhet Office Medical Officer Snigdha Talukder as a special guest. Senior Health Education Officer Sujan Banik and Also about 160 elders of the district and other senior health officers of Sylhet district were present in the campaign.
Speakers at the workshop said aging is a natural consequence of human life. Health care and medical facilities for the elderly need to be created and expanded. Regular health check-ups for seniors and necessary steps to cure it should be taken. Opportunities must be created so that the elderly can continue their participation in the ongoing social, economic, political, cultural and life education of the country.
Palliative care should be provided to people of any age with long-term, life-threatening or incurable illnesses. Also, guides us on do's and don'ts with elders. The workshop is implemented under the overall management of Play Doctor.
