UNDP donates tech equipment for updating voter list

Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin has said that the UNDP has donated several hundred laptops, document scanners and cameras for supporting the voter list updating process.
The voter list updating program is set to be launched at Savar, Dhaka on Monday, and during the process, UNDP will supply more tech equipment in phases.
UNDP will also be sending a need assessment team to help ensure the next general elections are free and fair, the chief election commissioner has said.
It was only last month, when AMM Nasir Uddin asked UNDP for assistance, and within a month the UN agency has responded, the chief election commissioner said expressing his delight at the swift response.
The Election Commission will deploy 65,000 personnel to reliably complete the new voter registration process within six months.
