UFC fighter denies being Nazi after pro-Hitler remarks backlash

UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell insists he is “definitely not a Nazi” after facing backlash for antisemitic remarks made during a podcast appearance, reports AP.
The featherweight fighter had previously praised Adolf Hitler, denied the Holocaust, and made homophobic comments during the podcast, sparking widespread criticism.
“I’m sorry if I sounded insensitive,” Mitchell wrote on Instagram on Saturday. “I definitely was not trying to offend anyone, but I know I did. I acknowledge that many people died in the Holocaust, and that is a fact. Hitler committed numerous evil acts, which I believe we can all agree on. I am definitely not a Nazi and do not support any of the terrible things Hitler did.”
UFC President and CEO Dana White described Mitchell’s comments as “dumb and ignorant.” White stated that the UFC had made it clear to Mitchell that his remarks were unacceptable but confirmed that no disciplinary action would be taken, citing his right to freedom of expression.
