Smugglers attack RAB in Satkhira's Shyamnagar: 5 injured, 4 detained

At least 5 people, including 3 RAB members, were injured in an attack by local smugglers in Shyamnagar, Satkhira. RAB has detained 4 people in the incident. The incident took place near the Ramzannagar Bridge adjacent to the Sundarbans at midnight on Friday (July 16) after sources were rescued from the attack.
Abdul Hamid Laltu, a member of Ward No. 8 of Ramzannagar Union, said local smugglers led by Mujibul Haque attacked local RAB sources Sadeq, Monirul and Rabiul in the Ramzannagar Bridge area on charges of handing over smuggled goods to RAB. Upon receiving the news, 6 RAB members came on three motorcycles.
When they reached the Ramjannagar Bridge area, the smugglers attacked them again. At least 5 people, including 3 RAB members, were injured.
Shyamnagar Police Station OC Nazmul Kabir said, the incident took place when locals attacked the sources. Sources said three RAB members were injured in the second attack.
Major Shariful Ahsan, commander of RAB, Satkhira camp, said two RAB members were injured in the attack by locals. Several locals have been detained for questioning. Major Sharif said he would give details of the incident later.
