The leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur metropolis stood beside the family of one of the martyrs of Rangpur, Abdullah -Al- Tahid, who was killed in the anti-discrimination student mass movement.

Abdullah -Al-Tahid, an 8th semester student of Dhaka Ceramic Polytechnic, was martyred in the indiscriminate firing by the police in front of the Rangpur city market on the 19th of July.

aulana Abdul Halim, Central Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Team Director of Rangpur-Dinajpur region, was the chief guest in a short program organized on this occasion at his house in East Shalban area of Rangpur city on Saturday morning.

At that time, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim said, “Abdullah -Al- Tahid, one of the martyrs of Rangpur in the anti-discrimination student mass movement, will be remembered in the history of Bangladesh by accepting martyrdom in the student mass movement. His sacrifice will be appreciated by everyone in the history of hundred years.”

Maulana Halim also said, “Except some members of Awami League, everyone participated in this unprecedented student mass movement. The students of this country were fed up with the police because of the continuous torture and the unusual brutality of disappearances, murders and oppression. Finally, the demonic government escaped. Now let us all build the country together.”

On this occasion Maulana Halim expressed his deep condolence and said Dr. Abdur Rahman, the father of martyr Abdullah -Al- Tahid, “You are proud to be the father of a martyr of the second independence movement of Bangladesh.” On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Abdul Halim also gave financial help to the family of Shaheed Abdullah-Al- Tahid.

At that time, Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer Vice Principal Maulana ATM Azam Khan, Metropolitan Jamaat Nayebe Ameer Professor Anwarul Islam, District Jamaat former Nayebe Ameer Principal Muhammad Abdul Gani, Metropolitan Jamaat Assistant Secretary and Kotali thana Ameer Anwarul Haque Kajal, Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir Dhaka Metropolitan North President Mohammad Anisur Rahman and Secretary Rezaul Karim Shakeel, Central Business Education Secretary Mohammad Salah Uddin, Islami Chhatra Shibir Rangpur Metropolitan Secretary Nurul Huda, Begum Rokeya University Branch President Sohel Rana among others were present.

Earlier in the morning, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim was present as the chief guest in a gathering of Jamaat thana leaders organized by Jamaat-e-Islami's Rangpur metropolitan branch in an auditorium in the city.
