A large portion of the security wall of the Goalando Upazila Health Complex in Rajbari has collapsed.
The municipality had previously dug a large hole to build a public toilet along the wall on the southeast side of the hospital, but in the end, the toilet was not installed there.
Meanwhile, the huge boundary wall became dangerous as the soil at the site continued to collapse into the toilet pit during the continuous rains of the past few days. Finally, on Saturday (August 9), the wall collapsed into the nearby pond. This left the hospital exposed.
Upazila Health Complex Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Md. Shariful Islam said that the hospital wall collapsed due to heavy rains due to holes being dug in the wall. This is disrupting the security of the hospital. It was unfortunate that even after digging holes for public toilets, it was not done. I have informed the Goalando Municipality Administrator and Upazila Executive Officer about the wall collapse and requested them to take immediate action.
Goalando UNO and Municipal Administrator Md. Nahidur Rahman said, "I have heard the news of the wall collapse. The Upazila Parishad or Municipality will repair the boundary as soon as possible after measuring the extent of the damage."
