A rare species of Nilgai has been rescued in Natore.

On Saturday at around 11 am, a villager of Prime Minister's village found a Nilgai in the Sheikhpara area of Dayarampur Oikya in Shantia. Later, with the efforts of locals, the Nilgai was installed around 2 pm and tied to the home of local UP member Samal Mollah.

When the news spread, eager people from different areas gathered there to catch a glimpse of this rare animal. Later, the police and officials of the Upazila Animal Husbandry Department were able to take the Nilgai into custody. The officials of the Kasisampad office present at the scene identified the animal as a Nilgai.

Local resident Haider Ali (48) said, "Know something like this before." Around 11 am, the locals first saw the cow-like animal. They chased the animal and tied it to a tree. Later, the police and the police administration arrived.

AI technician Shahidul Islam of the animal control office said, the trapped animal is a rare nilgai. It is found in several places. We have given it treatment here. For now, we have rescued the structure and taken it away. Our superiors will take further action.

SI Dulal Islam, present at Bagatipara Model, said, the police were deployed after receiving information about an unknown animal. Later, we came to know that it is a rare nilgai. Apparently, we rescued the organism and took it for help. The Department of Wildlife Conservation has been informed. They will take further action.

It is worth noting that nilgai is very rare to see in different regions. Usually they roam in the forest corners.

Police officer Hasu-Meem Probha said, said that he later handed over the responsibility to the officer to the Upazila Chhatra League.
