Police injured by accused's relatives attack in Ashulia, 13 arrested

A police officer of Ashulia Thana was injured by attack of relatives of a warranted accused at the time of arrest.
The attack took place at Sonamia Market of Norsinghopur area of Ashulia on Friday night.
Md Robiul Islam, Sub inspector of Ashulia Thana was injured and admitted to Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex.
Witnesses said that police arrested the accused Rakib Bhuiyan from the badminton court. At this time his family members attacked police and snatched the accused from the police by injuring an officer.
OC of Ashulia Thana (Operation) Md Abdul Barik said: "The relatives of accused Rakib Bhuiyan attacked the police and snatched the accused. Receiving the news, several police teams arrived at the spot and rescued the injured SI Rabiul Islam and admitted him to the hospital. Later in the night, 13 people were arrested for their involvement and sent to court.
