One killed, two injured in head-on collision between bus, motorcycle in Matiranga

A woman was killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a passenger Shanti Paribahan in Matiranga, Khagrachhari.
The accident occurred near the Matiranga Army Zone at around 9 am on Saturday.
The deceased is Dino Bala Tripura (48), wife of Nagoram Tripura of Arbari village in Guimara upazila. The injured are the sons of Bashimahan Tripura of the same area.
According to family sources, a Shanti Paribahan bus (Chatt Metro -B 11-0223) bound for Chittagong was passing a tom-tom rickshaw while climbing a hill and hit the motorcycle, causing the rider and the passenger to fall onto the road. Locals quickly rescued them and sent them to Matiranga Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty of the emergency department declared Dinobala dead and the injured motorcycle driver Shyamal Bikash Tripura and passenger Apul Tripura were admitted to the hospital.
However, the bus driver is absconding after the incident.
Matiranga Police Station OC Taufiqul Islam Taufiq said, all those in the car were from the same village. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. He said that the two cars involved in the accident have been seized.
