No plan to ban Awami League: Press Secretary

The interim government has no intention of banning the Awami League, confirmed Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
He made the remark on Sunday (January 19) after the first day of a two-day training workshop organized by the Bangladesh Agricultural Journalists’ Forum (BAJF) in Dhaka.
Shafiqul Alam said those within the Awami League who have committed crimes will face justice.
“There is no remorse among the party’s leaders. However, the decision to ban the Awami League, if ever considered, will be made by political parties, not the interim government,” he said.
