A monthly police-magistracy conference was held in Chapainawabganj at the initiative of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court.

The meeting was held in the conference room of the court on Saturday afternoon.

The meeting was presided over by the newly appointed Chief Judicial Magistrate AKM Jahangir Alam. This is the first monthly meeting of his court after he joined Chapainawabganj. In his speech, the president sought everyone's cooperation and called on everyone to work responsibly.

At the beginning of the meeting, Superintendent of Police Md. Rezaul Karim greeted the Chief Judicial Magistrate with a bouquet of flowers.

The meeting, chaired by Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashraful Islam and Judicial Magistrate Sarmin Chowdhury, was attended by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Abu Taleb, Additional Superintendent of Police (Promotion to the post of Superintendent of Police) Abul Kalam Shahid, Additional District Magistrate Iftekharul Islam, Judicial Magistrate Tahmina Khatun, General Secretary of the District Bar Association Adv. Ekramul Haque Pintu, PP of the District and Sessions Judge Court Adv. Md. Abdul Odud, Executive Engineer of the Roads Division Nahinur Rahman, Jail Superintendent Shariful, Assistant Judge Mehedi Hasan (Trainee), Assistant Judge Likhon Kumar Barman (Trainee), officers in charge of the district's RAB-BGB and various police stations, as well as officials of the relevant departments of the Justice Department.

The police-magistrate conference discussed various issues including issuing summons and croquis warrants, the presence of witnesses in cases by the police, the security of witnesses in their arrival and departure from court, the security of judges and other officials in the court premises, coordination and cooperation between the police and the magistrates regarding the smooth disposal of criminal justice, and decisions taken for the speedy disposal of cases.
