Illegal wood seized by BGB in Longadu

Round teak wood has been seized in the operation of BGB in Longadu upazila of Rangamati. Illegal timber worth Tk .1,42,000 was seized by Rajnagar Battalion (37 BGB) during BGB operation.
According to BGB sources, late on Saturday (February 24) based on secret information, it is known that smugglers are cutting wood from the forest for the purpose of smuggling wood at a place called Rahmatpur under the responsibility of Tematha BGB camp.
Based on the news, Rajnagar Zone Commander Lt Col Shah Md Shakeel Alam, Assistant Director Mohammad Hafizur Rahman under the direction of SPP, BGBMS led a patrol from Battalion Sadar and a patrol team from Tematha BGB camp, a total of two patrol teams conducted special operations in the area.
Sensing the presence of the BGB patrol team, the smugglers quickly fled from the spot. 71 cubic feet of teak logs were seized by the BGB in the operation. Which Caesar Price-1,42,000/- (One Lakh Thousand Forty Two Thousand) Rs. Handover of seized wood to Rangipara Forest Office and case proceedings are under process.
In this regard, the Rajnagar Zone Commander said that the ongoing operations against illegal timber smuggling will continue and will be strengthened in the future.
