GCF evaluation mission of LGED's CRIM Project, CRILIC ends

The Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming (CRIM) Project of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and its Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Center (CRILIC), supported by development partner Green Climate Fund (GCF), concluded its evaluation mission on the Climate Information and Early Warning System (CIEWS) from July 7 to 10. 

The mission was led by Aiko Wad, Principal Evaluation Officer of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), accompanied by Dr. Vicenta Sayel Cortes Bareuta, Senior Evaluator and Consultant.

Project Director Md. Abdul Khaleque briefed the mission on CRILIC’s progress and future plans on July 7. 

 Md. Anwar Hossain, Additional Chief Engineer of LGED and Director of CRILIC; Hafizur Rahman, member of the GCF evaluation team; senior assistant engineers and consultants of the project were present. It was  also  attended by  Md. Kabir Hossain, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD). The evaluation team expressed satisfaction with CRILIC’s completed activities and forward-looking strategy.

On July 9, the GCF evaluation team visited project sites in Satkhira Municipality, interacted with municipal officials, and inspected ongoing development work. Later, the team visited the Bakra Cyclone Shelter Site in Assasuni Upazila, constructed with GCF funding. They spoke with local residents and beneficiaries and expressed satisfaction with the site selection and its appropriateness.

During the field visits, Md. Kabir Hossain from ERD, Md. Abdul Khaleque, Project Director of the CRIM Project, Engineer Tanmoy Chakraborty, and other officials from the municipality and LGED were present.
