Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Tajul Islam said, those who do not love the country, they cannot be lucky people.

He said this in the speech of the chief guest at the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of 39 development projects including newly -constructed buildings of Laksam Upazila Parishad on Saturday afternoon.

Organized jointly by Upazila Parishad Chatter Upazila Administration and Local Government Engineering Department under the supervision of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdul Hai Siddiqui and Upazila Parishad Chairman Advocate Yunus Bhuiyan presiding.

Ali Akhtar Hossain, Chief Engineer of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) , District Superintendent Engineer Mostafa Hasan, Jej, Additional Superintendent of Police Khandkar Ashfakuzzaman, Municipal Mayor Prof. Abul Khair, President of Laxam Press Club Tabarak Ullah Kayes, Upazila Health Officer Dr. Nazia Binte Alam. Upazila Vice- Chairman Mohabbat Ali, Padshi Saha, Municipal Awami League General Secretary Advocate Rafiqul Islam Hira were present at the time.

Highlighting the details of various development projects implemented in Laksam Upazila, LGRD Minister further said that from 2001 to 2008, Laksam was a hotbed of terrorism. In 2009, when Awami League came to power, roads were paved everywhere in Laksam. Electricity has been delivered to every house. Due to the construction of various infrastructures including schools and colleges, the upazilas have turned into urban areas today. Bangladesh is moving forward during the current government. Bangladesh will go further if this government comes to power again.

The Prime Minister is realizing Bangabandhu's dream by thinking about the development of Metro Rail, Elevesh in Laksam Municipality. Criticizing the BNP Jamaat, the minister said that those who set fire to cars and kill people can never develop people. By burning people, BNP is deceiving the nation by talking about democracy and humanity.

The local government minister called upon the people to unite to resist these destructive politics of BNP for the sake of the country's development.
