Former MP of Rangpur Karim Uddin Bharsa passes away

Former Jatiya Party MP of Rangpur Karim Uddin Bharsa (88) passed away Saturday, July 23, around 12 noon at Evercare Hospital, a private hospital in Dhaka, after being infected with COVID-19. Inna Allahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun.
Prominent industrialist Karim Uddin Bharsa was elected as Member of Parliament three times in two constituencies of Rangpur. Karim Uddin Bharsa was suffering from Corona infection for some time. His death was confirmed by his elder son Sirajul Islam Bharsa and another son Kamrul Islam Bharsa.
Karim Uddin Bharsa was elected Member of Parliament from Rangpur-1 (Gangachra-Sadar Partial) Constituency in the Fifth National Assembly Election. Later he was elected Member of Parliament from Rangpur-4 (Pirgacha-Kaunia) constituency in the seventh and eighth elections.
He was involved in Jatiya Party politics and was the district president of the party for a long time. Karim Uddin Bharsa has 10 sons and 6 daughters. For a long time there was a bitter dispute between the two parties regarding the property. Two parties among the children approached the court regarding father Karim Uddin Bharsa. His funeral prayers will be held at Haragach Sarai Jame Masjid Sunday afternoon. His son said that his burial will be done later.
According to family sources, the High Court recently ordered Karim Uddin Bharsa to appear in court to find out whether he was detained or not before his death.
The court gave this order to son Saiful Uddin alias Shimul Bharsa. After the preliminary hearing of the Heberias Corpus (Direction of Appearance) application of his 9 children claiming that Karim Uddin Bharsa is in charge of Shimul Bharsa, the High Court gave that order along with the rule. R.
When Shimul Bharasa appealed to the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court on March 6, the Supreme Court suspended the order for 6 weeks. When Shafiqul Islam and 9 children appealed again against the suspension order, the High Court directed Karim Uddin Bharsa to appear in the Rangpur judge's court on a Saturday after 15 days and give him an opportunity to meet the children. But the sons and daughters of the other side of Karim Uddin Bharsa did not appear in the court of Rangpur on Saturday.
Sirajul Islam Bharsa, eldest son of Karim Uddin Bharsa, said that his father's funeral prayers and burial will be done in Rangpur. Another son, Kamrul Bharsa, said, "We traveled for 3 years to see our father. But they did not let the father see the court order. What could be sadder than not being able to see my father's face at the time of his death?”

Member and Rangpur Metropolitan President and Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, Japa Vice Chairman and Rangpur Metropolitan General Secretary SM Yasir, Japa Central Committee Organizing Secretary and District General Secretary Abdur Razzak.
