Expired products sold at Aslam Sweets and Bakery in Tongibari

 Tongibari (Munshiganj) Correspondent

A complaint has been received that expired biscuits and curds were sold at Aslam Sweets and Bakery in Tongibari Bazar, Munshiganj.

These expired products were sold to a teacher of Sonarang Mohila Madrasa on Saturday.

On Sunday morning, consumer Nuruzzaman said, I bought toast biscuits packaged with their bakery logo from Aslam Sweets and Bakery located in Tongibari Bazar at 10 am last Saturday.

Then on Sunday morning, while eating, I found them soft. Then, when I looked at the expiration date on the packet, I saw that the expiration date had passed 2 months ago. Also, I had bought curd from them earlier, it had a rotten smell and I threw it away, I could not come due to lack of time. Many of us buy various products from them. Not everyone is aware and not everyone follows the expiration date, if they sell expired products like this, then the customer will suffer serious losses. Which can silently end people's lives.

The shop's salesman Morsalin said, unknowingly, expired biscuits were sold, now it has been  changed.

Aslam Hossain, owner of Aslam Sweets and Bakery, said, that is one of our showrooms. It is run through the manager. When the expiration date is over, the products are supposed to be sent to the factory. Expired products are not supposed to be sold, but this can happen by mistake.

Asif Al Azad, Assistant Director of the District Consumer Affairs Department, said, our regular campaign is continuing so that expired products cannot be sold. If we receive a written complaint about the sale of expired products, appropriate action will be taken by hearing both parties.
